Valimail Industry Report: Federal Contractors

Millions connected through data

The top 100 contractors to the federal government are not covered by the same cybersecurity requirements as the agencies they serve, but it appears that they have embraced some of the same directives. These contractors have a higher rate of DMARC usage than almost any other sector we have examined, but their rate of DMARC enforcement is low, which means that most of these companies still lack protection against impersonation.

Data this report contains:

  • DMARC usage among the top 100 contractors to the U.S. federal government
  • The rate of success among those contractors that have deployed DMARC
  • How the DHS directive BOD 18-01 affects federal contractors
  • SPF usage among the top federal contractors
