What to expect from Proofpoint migration
Thinking about switching from Proofpoint? You don’t have to worry about starting from scratch, and it doesn’t require a rollback from your current enforcement posture. You’ll stay protected with no interruption to your emailing environment, and the process takes only one to two weeks.
Here’s what to expect:
1. Point your DMARC record to Valimail
This allows us to start populating the data in your account. You can also keep pointing to your current vendor.
2. Identify sending services
We will now have visibility of all third-party sending services using your domain(s) and can determine if each service is authenticating or not. We’ll also identify any services that your previous provider may have missed.
3. Automatically configure authorized services
We will set up the configuration of your sending services to expedite the transition.
4. Check your DNS
Check your DNS for legacy DKIM keys that we may not have auto-configured yet and provide to Valimail for import (if you are using another vendor, you can export this info).
5. Point records to Valimail
In your DNS, point your SPF and DKIM records to Valimail Enforce.
6. Set up additional users and alerts
To ensure a smooth transition to Valimail, we’ll add all of the users to your account and set up alerts so you stay up to date with the email traffic activity of your domains.
7. Stop pointing to Proofpoint
